My dad was incredibly smart, kind, funny & humble.
He respected everyone regardless of who they were, what they had or what they believed in. He believed that there was something to learn from everyone.
He wanted everybody around him to succeed and supported our visions and dreams.
He loved me very dearly.
I stumbled on one of the tributes that his colleagues had written where they referred to me as “his world” — it wasn’t a lie.
He was meticulous about my progress. He wanted the best for me and he showed it, he was always attentive and thorough.
He told me that I could do and be anything, that nothing was too big for me to achieve — he showed me that he would always have my back and do his part.
Our relationship had its ups and downs but I guess that’s part of life. He made mistakes as all parents do but I cannot deny that even those were borne out of his love for me.
He was a fascinating man.
He loved plants, animals and nature in general, flowers and wildlife fascinated him. He loved taking pictures and videos of everything.
We watched Chopped, Dragon’s Den, NatGeoWild, The Crime Channel and even Disney shows together.
Today makes it 5 years without him and I still miss him very much.
I always will.
